I am a licensed naturopathic doctor and my focus is treating mental health issues such as anxiety, OCD and eating disorders. I am an expert in medication tapering and discontinuation.
I received my doctoral education at Bastyr University. I am not a psychiatrist or MD. My passion for healing “tough cases” is that I too was a “tough case” and got better. Dismissed by doctors, I was told over and over there was nothing else I could try beyond pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. So, I was inspired to create myocddiary.com; a site dedicated to documenting daily life of OCD and related disorders. Through this project and holistic therapies, I got better; and in 2014 did a TED talk called “MyOCDdiary: an imperfect story.”
I utilize natural and integrative modalities including functional blood chemistry analysis, targeted amino acid therapy, botanical medicine, micronutrient supplementation, peptide therapy, NAD+ and epigenetic analysis.
I want to do two things:
Support with tireless compassion those of you who are struggling. I get it and remember what it was like.
The second thing is to actually correct what’s gone awry in the body. So that everyone sees their own lightbulb turn on, and witness their illness just go away.
In my personal life, I love to paint, go backcountry camping with my siblings, bake and explore ghost towns.
